I've got a book out!

So in case you missed it -- and you probably did, because I haven't posted it about much before now -- but another book I worked on has finally come out. That would be Alchemicals: Forged by the Machine God, an Exalted Third Edition supplement for playing the Alchemical Exalted, Chosen of the Great Maker. It's also the sourcebook for Autochthonia, the Realm of Brass and Shadow that is Autochthon's world-body, which the Alchemicals protect and maintain as well as taking care of the communities of people living there.

It was a fun book to work on, and I wound up doing a little bit of everything across my various sections. I wrote up the submerged city of Loran, in the setting chapter. I also wrote up a pair of artifacts, the 'Bygone Predator' and the 'Prismatic Bulwark,' for the artifacts chapter. In the NPC chapter, I did the write-ups on the Fix Beetles and Crystal Flies. In addition, I wrote the one-page fictions that grace the beginning of Chapters Seven (Technology and Artifacts) and Eight (Quick Characters). I'll admit it's the latter that's been the most thrilling for me, because the artwork they did for the chapter is not only a badass piece, but pretty much captures the moment exactly as I imagined it when I was writing the section.

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- if I ever become blasé about the fact that something I wrote got made into artwork, I deserve a smack on the head. Even when a picture doesn't exactly capture what I imagined or described, it's always very cool to see my work depicted. As an aside, while I didn't create either of the characters depicted in the image, the beamklave (magic hard light sword) was something that came to mind as I was writing, and the fact that it made its way into the artwork and a bunch of people responded to it is something I'm more than a little proud of.

Anyhow, I'll probably get more into the other writing stuff I've been working on another time, I keep letting myself get distracted and it's storming pretty hard and I wanna get this posted before the power goes out or something.
